Cyber Essentials Readiness & Remediation

Ready for Cyber Essentials.
Without the guesswork.

We get your Microsoft 365, Intune, MFA and patching to the standard Cyber Essentials expects, so you are well prepared when an independent Certification Body carries out the assessment.

Who this suits

The right help for your business.

Small businesses preparing for a Cyber Essentials assessment, for example because a client, tender or supplier questionnaire has asked for it. We can also work alongside your internal IT team or existing IT provider on the remediation.

What we can help with

Fix the gaps.
Be assessment ready.

Readiness and remediation come first. Your proposal confirms the specific inclusions.

Readiness review

Review your devices, Microsoft 365, user accounts and software against the Cyber Essentials requirements. You receive a prioritised list of gaps to fix before the assessment.

Remediation

Fix the agreed gaps: Microsoft 365 and Intune settings, MFA, updates and patching, supported software and account access. Changes are agreed before they are made.

Evidence and handover

Help your business contact gather the information the Certification Body will ask for. Your organisation remains responsible for the answers it submits.

What you receive

A written readiness summary, a record of the remediation completed, anything that remains outstanding and handover notes for your business contact.

What this service is not

We are not a Certification Body. The assessment and any certificate come from an independent Certification Body, and its fees are separate. We cannot guarantee a pass. This is not penetration testing or formal compliance assurance.

What the scheme looks at

Five technical controls.
Clear priorities.

Cyber Essentials is a UK government-backed scheme. We prepare your IT against these areas before the assessment.

  • Firewalls and internet gateways
  • Secure configuration
  • User access control
  • Malware protection
  • Security update management

How delivery works

Agreed before
we start.

Costs are tailored to your environment. We confirm the scope, price and payment terms before any work is booked.

01

Discuss and scope

Tell us about your users, devices and why you need Cyber Essentials. We confirm what we will review and fix.

02

Review and remediate

We review against the requirements, explain the gaps and agree each change with you before making it.

03

Hand over for assessment

You receive the readiness summary and notes, then submit your assessment to your chosen Certification Body.

Questions about this service

Can you certify us?

No. Certification is issued by an independent Certification Body after it assesses your submission. We prepare and fix your IT beforehand. The assessment fee is paid to the Certification Body.

Will we pass?

We cannot guarantee a result. The Certification Body makes that decision. Our aim is to find and fix the gaps in the agreed scope before you submit.

What about Cyber Essentials Plus?

Cyber Essentials Plus includes a hands-on technical verification carried out by the Certification Body. Where agreed, we can help prepare your devices and settings beforehand. The verification itself is not part of our service.

Which systems do you cover?

Typically Microsoft 365, Intune, MFA and patching. Other systems are assessed before we quote, and anything outside the agreed scope is stated in your proposal.

What happens at renewal?

Certification has to be renewed by the Certification Body. A renewal readiness check can be agreed as separate work.

Tell us what you need help with.

Tell us why you need Cyber Essentials, how many people and devices you have, and when you need to be assessed. Please leave out passwords and sensitive data.

Getting started

From agreement
to a clear handover.

You know what happens next, who owns each step and what is needed before delivery begins.

01 / CONFIRM

Accept the proposal.

Review and accept the scope, price, exclusions, payment terms and success criteria. We confirm delivery dates once the proposal is accepted and the payment terms are agreed.

02 / PREPARE

Agree access and ownership.

Nominate your business contact and confirm devices, systems and authorised access. We agree how credentials and MFA will be handled; do not send passwords in an enquiry.

03 / DELIVER

Keep the work visible.

We record work completed and update you at the agreed checkpoints. Decisions, blockers and any additional work are discussed before the scope changes.

04 / HAND OVER

Confirm the next steps.

Check the agreed deliverables together and receive the relevant notes, outstanding actions and ownership details. Any follow-up support is defined in the proposal.

For prepaid or ongoing support, we also agree the contact route, eligible requests, availability, time recording and escalation options. Standard booked support does not include continuous monitoring or emergency cover.

Website enquiry privacy notice

Updated 11 October 2026. K A Myers Limited, trading as K A Myers Tech, is responsible for the business enquiry information we receive. Contact: contact@kamyerstech.com.

What we receive and why

When you email us, we receive your name, email address, company details and the requirement you choose to share. We use this information to respond, prepare quotations and manage related business correspondence. For business contacts, our lawful basis is our legitimate interest in handling relevant enquiries and operating our services. Where you personally request a contract, processing may also be necessary for steps before entering that contract.

How the form works

The enquiry builder prepares an email locally in your browser. It does not submit the brief to our website database. Your information reaches us when you send the email. Hosting services may process technical request information, such as IP addresses and access logs, to deliver and secure this website.

Providers and retention

Our Microsoft 365 email provider and website hosting providers process information needed to deliver these services. We keep correspondence for as long as needed to handle your enquiry, manage any resulting engagement and meet applicable record keeping obligations. Retention depends on whether the enquiry leads to work, remains active or is needed to resolve a dispute.

Your rights

You can ask to access or correct your personal information and, where applicable, request deletion, restriction or portability. You have the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests. Contact us at the address above. You may also complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office.
